Young Enterprise came to visit P5.

Young Enterprise came to visit P5. The two people who came were called Sandra and Damien. Sandra brought a large coloured sheet which had the words ‘Our City’ on it.

We found out about vital features that make up any city. Sandra talked about where it was best to place buildings in a city e.g. a hospital needs to be central and have space for the building, ambulances and car park facilities. After that, Damien from Liberty Insurance discussed his job with us. He talked about insurance packages and about how he takes lots of calls from customers.

After lunch, Sandra surprised us by telling us we were going to make our own models of buildings in a city. I got a hotel and designed it. We looked at where we would place these in ‘our city’. Finally, we got to plan our own restaurant. This was called ‘Steps to Success’.

The name of my restaurant is the ‘Music Trap’. It would be on the high street and would have music from different singers playing in the background. Sandra and Mrs Kelly liked my ideas. We had to say which customers we wanted to attract to our restaurant, what foods or themes we would have or if we were going to have any special offers running. On another page we got to design the front of our restaurant and plan a suitable menu.

My menu consisted of many delicious foods, all related to famous singers e.g. Bob Marley Cheesecake, Bowie’s hot chicken wings. It was a great day and I have learnt a lot about what makes a city and the steps to owning my own business.
