P7 enjoy a retreat in Lough Derg in preparation for Confirmation

On Friday 3^rd of May all of the P7 classes went to Loch Derg to take part in a special retreat to help us prepare for Confirmation. When we arrived we met Lynette and Shimhin, our leaders for the retreat. They played some games with us to help us get to know ourselves better and learn more about each other. They also showed us the Penitential beds where the monks prayed hundreds of years ago.

In the afternoon we took part in a reflection about the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Deacon Martin took us on a tour of the island’s Basilica which was really interesting; there was a piece of wood in the church from the actual cross that Jesus died on. It was a really lovely retreat which we really enjoyed. Thank you.
