Holy Trinity Science Week
Classes accross our school completed science experiments as part of our schools Science Week.
In P2 the children had lots of fun making balloon rockets. They predicted what they thought might happen and then took it in turns to have a go. They talked about how the air in the balloon and straw made the balloon go very fast when we let go of the peg.
In Mrs Daly's P5 class completed the ice water challenge, they timed how long they could hold their hands in iced water. For the floating and sinking experiments teh children tested a range of objects to see if theu would folat or sink in water.
In Mrs Morris class the children made a boat out of plasticene that would float on water. There was a lot of discussion on how to make the test fair. The pupils then worked on their boats and tried to amend them, where necessary, to ensure that they floated. Each pupil then predicted how many marbles their boat could hold while floating on the water, before testing it out themselves. The activity was really enjoyed by all.
