Holy Trinity Running Club news

14th Oct 2016

Following the recent Olympic Games in Rio, athletics has grown from strength to strength with more children getting involved in running.  At Holy Trinity Primary School, we value the importance to support and develop promising young athletes in the sport.  The Flahavan’s Porridge Cross Country League is a great way to get children involved in running and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.

On Thursday 13th October many local primary school children descended on the Lakeland Forum playing fields to compete in the popular Flahavan’s Porridge Cross Country League. The ideal running conditions and spectator friendly event added to the atmosphere, where 25 enthusiastic Holy Trinity athletes completed the 1000m course with determination. Many of the children were ranked in top 20 positions, proving that their effort and motivation at training is certainly paying off. Congratulations to all children who competed in this event.

Results on this event can be found on http://www.athleticsni.org/Results

The Holy Trinity Running Club thoroughly enjoyed participating in this competition and we are looking forward to celebrating further success at upcoming running events in the near future.
