Gerard Siggins gave a talk at Holy Trinity, Cornagrade

28th Feb 2017

Author and writer Gerard Siggins visited Holy Trinity primary school on Monday 27th February.  Gerard gave a short talk telling the children about how he started writing children's fictional books.  He talked about how he thought of his characters and where his ideas came from.  He then answered lots of the children's questions and took time to sign lots of autographs.

Paddy, one of our P5 pupils loves Gerard's rugby series of books and after getting in touch with the author a few years back is now a character in his latest book 'Rugby Runner'.  Gerard sent Paddy his latest book earlier this year as a surprise.  It was only when Paddy read the book that he found out he was a main character in it.  What a surprise and honour.  Mrs Cathcart, our Literacy coordinator, invited Mr Siggins to our school to talk to pupils.  It was a really enjoyable visit.

Thank you Gerard Siggins for visiting our school.  It was great.
