The Irish Minor Schools Championships 2026 took place on Sunday 29th March at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin.

Four Holy Trinity swimmers made the journey, having qualified in November at the regional schools gala in Bangor and were full of excitement as they headed off to Dublin to do their schools proud on the National stage.

Charlie (P5), excelled in his debut on the national stage at the NAC. A strong swim in the heats qualified him for the final in the 50m Breaststroke. He backed this up with another PB time of 48.78 seconds and an amazing final swim to take home the bronze medal to Holy Trinity Primary School.

Older sister Mollie Kate (P7), cemented herself as one of the top 11 year olds in Ireland with 2 amazing swims at the National Aquatic Centre. She took 4 secs off her previous time in the 100m IM finishing 6th in a field of over 200 swimmers the most contested event of the day. She followed this up with another 3 second PB in the 50m Backstroke narrowly missing out on a medal finishing in 4th place.

Emily (P6) delivered an outstanding performance at the Irish Schools Championships, securing two top-ten finishes in highly competitive fields. She placed 10th out of 110 swimmers in the 50m Freestyle, clocking an impressive 37.43 seconds. She then raised the bar even further with a superb 4th-place finish out of 102 competitors in the 50m Backstroke, showcasing her versatility and competitive edge with a remarkable time of 41.05 seconds.

Elin (P7) delivered a strong performance, achieving new personal bests in both the 50m Butterfly and 100m Individual Medley. She showed great progress, cutting an impressive five seconds from her entry times in each event.

What amazing swimming! We are very proud of you allπŸ€©βœ¨πŸ‘πŸŽŠπŸŠ‍β™€οΈπŸŠ‍♂️
