Celebrating World Book Day

5th Mar 2026

Holy Trinity children have been celebrating World Book day in a number of ways.

In P2 the children had a special visitor.  Marion, our school librarian, visited each class and read the children the story of the 'Little Lost Cowboy'.  She introduced the children to her little coyotte dog.

In P3 children worked in pairs to create their own 'Ten Word Tiny Tale' based on the stories by Joseph Coelho.  They also listened to stories and talked about their favourite stories and characters.

P6 children visited our Nursery and Preschool classes for their book share.  They read Nursery/Preschool children their favourite stories and then spent some play time together.   For World book Day the P6 classes recreated their favourite books using recycled clothing.  They learnt about textiles, using a range of materials, and layering to represent their chosen book. They had lots of fun and they turned out fantastic.

During the week P7 classes walked over to our Mill Street site to visit P1, for a book share.  They chatted to the P1 children, had break with them and read them their favourite books.  They also visited the ICT suite for some Tizzy's Toybox fun together.  In their own classroom P7 children discussed book villians and ranked them in order using a Diamond Nine.

On World Book Day Miss Cleary's class had a special visitor; Mr Treacy came to see them all and read them a story.
